Governor Susan Kihika at Afraha Stadium, the tournament is a flagship initiative of the County Government of Nakuru, implemented in partnership with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF). The competition is designed to identify and nurture football talent while fostering social cohesion and creating opportunities for young people across the county.The tournament follows a structured progression from the village level to ward, sub-county, and county finals, ensuring that every aspiring footballer, regardless of their background, has an equal opportunity to compete and advance through the ranks.To motivate participation and reward excellence, the Governor’s Cup features one of the most attractive prize packages in grassroots football. The county champions will receive KSh 1 million, while the runners-up will take home KSh 750,000. The third and fourth-placed teams will be awarded KSh 500,000 and KSh 300,000 respectively.
