It's with deep sorrow i learnt of the demise of Hon. Nicholas Biwott, a distinguished public servant and leader, who served this country with immense commitment. He played a very crucial role in the building of this great nation and ensured that the transition to the Kenya we have today was a success. His persona was bigger than life and he diligently accorded this nation and the people of Elgeyo Marakwet undivided passion and an unparalleled leadership. Hon. Biwott's passing is a tremendous loss to the people of Kenya in particular, as we prepare for this year's crucially General Elections. Indeed, we all do share in the great loss of Hon. Biwott. On behalf of the people of Nakuru, I pray that his family, relatives and friends, find strength and solace during this trying time. H.E. Kinuthia Mbugua.

It is with deep sorrow that i learned of the passing of Joseph Ole Nkaissery, a man who yesterday appeared full of life during yesterday's National Peace Prayers. Indeed Kenya, has lost a great, humble, and trusted leader. On my own behalf, and on behalf of the people of Nakuru and Kenya entirely, may I express our heartfelt condolences to the family, relatives and friends of the late Nkaissery. The late Nkaissery played an immensely important role in contributing towards shaping the the security agenda here in Kenya and issues of our internal and external peace development. He will be remembered for his endeavours to guide our nations security development as important pillars for this great nation. The demise of such an eminent, steadfast leader is indeed a great loss to Kenya. Wishing comfort to his family courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts. Our thoughts are with you all in these sorrowful moments.

Today Nakuru County Deputy Governor, H.E Joseph Rutto Flagging off the IAAF World Under 18 Championships caravan which is being flagged off in each county.

The caravan is aimed at sensitizing the youths on the importance of attending the IAAF World Championship event to be held in Nairobi from July 12th to the 18th.

The event which has attracted over 150 countries worldwide will go along way in boosting the Kenyan tourism sector and developing the talents of our young athletes.

This year's event is the last one to be held for the under 18 category -

Entrance for Under 18 will be free.

For adults, charges will be
Ksh1000 for VVIPs, Ksh500 for VIPs
Ksh 200 regular ticket.

Students will be required to carry their school Identity cards.
